“Judaism views childhood as a period of purity, joy and beauty to be valued and cherished.”
Rabbi David Rosen
Jewish education begins at birth and extends throughout one’s life. Here at Congregation Lev Shalom in Flagstaff, we are excited about introducing our preschoolers to the wonder and enrichment of Jewish tradition. We are blessed to have experienced teachers and dedicated, involved parents participating in programming that activates Judaism in the home as well as the synagogue, and prepares our children for Religious School and B’nai Mitzvah study. Each session lasts an hour. It can include stories, art projects, cultural games, music and dance, interactive Shabbat and festival cooking experiences, as well as the introduction of Hebrew words and phrases. “Tot Shabbat” with a community pot luck is scheduled once a month. Also, we have special outings and Shabbat in the Home gatherings at various times throughout the year.
We encourage participation from age 2 through 5. Students with special needs are welcome.
Family membership to Congregation Lev Shalom is encouraged, but not required.
